The municipal authorities in local ski resort Bansko have ordered a halt to all construction activities to from Dec 1, '07 to Apr 1, '08 to ensure the tranquil stay of resort guests. Offenders will be fined between 1,000 and 5,000 levs. The municipality has put on hold the issue of new building permits until the relevant zoning plans are drawn up. Bansko mayor Alexander Kravarov said the zoning plans for the Sredoreko and Asanitsa localities are currently in the works. With the launch of 10 new hotels and vacation facilities, the resort will have the capacity to welcome 15,000 tourists during the upcoming winter season. The construction ban for ski resort Borovets will be in effect Dec 15, '07-Apr 15, '08.
